Gizmodo: Research associate Michael Ponting discusses the new GRIN lenses—artificial lenses that mimic the ones found in human eyes—developed by his company, a spinoff from Case Western Reserve University. “We’ve always been interested in how smart evolved natural systems are at getting things done,” he said. “So we looked to nature to find the most efficient scientist.”
